Fiberglass Products for the Marine Industry
Fiber Glass Industries has been a supplier of premium composite fabrics to the marine industry for over 50 years. In addition to offering standard mat, roving and woven products; in recent years we have developed a number of new knit products and manufacturing solutions that help manufacturers and engineers meet challenging new design criteria, a changing labor market and most recently the industry wide movement to closed mold and vacuum bagged production.
In addition to weaving and stitching our own composite fabrics, we also produce the structural fibers that go into our fabrics giving us unparalleled quality and consistency in the marine composite fabrics we produce. The vertical integration of our manufacturing process insures consistent sizings resulting in fabrics that conform, consistently wet out and perform to the highest standards.
Knit Fiber Glass Fabrics |
90° Unidirectional fiberglass fabrics are constructed with single end rovings in the 90° or weft direction and a light weight polyester yarn in the 0° direction.
0°/90° Biaxial Knitmat non-crimp construction of 0° and 90° reinforcement strands with or without chop and/or veil.
Knitmat 45° Double Bias is a strong stitch bonded Double Bias fiberglass product mechanically combining 45° rovings and chopped strands.
Warp/Weft Triaxial is a high strength, stitch bonded Triaxial fiberglass product. Stitch Bonding mechanically combines 45° reinforcements with a high strength warp (0°) or weft (90°) reinforcement and chopped strands or veil if desired.
Quadaxial is a very strong stitch bonded product constructed of 4 layers of reinforcement fibers in 4 different directions: 0°, 90° and +- 45°.
Hybrid Fabrics are high strength, stitch bonded fiberglass products with the added strength of Para Aramid type fibers in the construction.

Woven Fiberglass & Mat |
Rovcloth Woven Roving is a woven fiberglass fabric consisting of single end glass rovings.
Fabmat (Woven & Mat) Fabmat consists of a base layer of Rovcloth to which a controlled deposit of chopped fiberglass strands have been chemically attached. It is a high strength fibrous glass reinforcement.
Fortesil Fabmat consists of unidirectional fibrous glass reinforcement in the warp (0°) direction to which a controlled deposit of 1 or 1.5 oz. per sq. foot of chopped fiber glass strand mat is chemically bonded.
Stitched Fabmat consists of a Rovcloth base layer to which a controlled quantity of chopped fiberglass strand is deposited and stitched. This process allows for fast wet out and ease of handling not available with other stitched woven/mat products. |
Closed Mold Products |
Flomat is a highly conformable closed mold reinforcing material, designed for RTM, RTMLITE, RTM-LITE, RTM-LIGHTand other closed mold applications. Flomat is a multi layer stitched product consisting of a highly conformable needled thermoplastic core sandwiched between 2 outside layers of binderless chopped fiberglass strand mat.
Infusamat Infusamat is used to improve the flow of a laminate in a vacuum infusion application. The design of Infusamat has been specifically tailored to improve the flow rate through your laminate while generating a controlled flow front to minimize air entrapment.
